Delays on Highway 4 - Alberni Summit

People travelling on between Port Alberni and the Alberni Summit/brake check should expect some delays next week.

Mosaic will be conducting road construction activities adjacent to the highway. On Monday, September 16 from 6 to 10 pm travellers should expect delays of up to 15 minutes. On September 17 and 18 there will be intermittent delays may occur throughout the day. Drive BC has the latest information and will continue to have updates as well.

Mosaic has scheduled these activities during these times to manage activities with public safety in mind and to minimize delays to highway travelers as much as possible. They appreciate everyone's patience and understanding. They will be keeping DriveBC updated, so check the Drive BC website for updates.

Road base repair and resurfacing on Highway 4 near Kennedy Hill

Please be advised that Mainroad crews will be carrying out essential road repairs and resurfacing on Highway 4, approximately two kilometres east of Kennedy Hill. Single lane alternating will be in effect 24 hours a day and seven days a week until the job is complete.

When: Monday, September 9 to Friday, October 18, 2024
Time: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Single lane alternating could cause minor delays, so please leave yourself extra time when travelling in the area. There will not be scheduled closures. The single lane will be sufficient for commercial and regular traffic, but oversized vehicles are encouraged to reach out to Mainroad in advance.

Drivers are reminded to obey signs and traffic control personnel and watch for roadside workers. Please show respect for all roadside crews – slow down.
