How a regional district works
Under the policies and directives of the Board of the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District, the Corporate Administration Department provides legislative and administrative services and support to the Board, its committees, and the public. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Preparing and distributing Board and committee agendas
- Ensuring accurate recording of the proceedings of the Board and its committees
- Maintaining corporate and official records and information
- Conveying decisions of the Board for action or information
- Discretionary and Community Development grant administration
- Preparing bylaws - service establishment, borrowing and regulatory
- Conducting elections and other voting opportunities in the rural areas
- Preparing contracts, leases and agreements
- Managing the information and privacy program under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
- Ensuring that statutory obligations are met
- Participating in special projects
- Corporate communications
