Treaty Implementation - A Path Forward

The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District became the first municipal government to welcome treaty First Nations to its board as full voting members in April 2012.

The four members of the Maa-nulth Treaty - Huu-ay-aht, Toquot, Uchucklesaht, and Yuułuʔiłʔath - currently all have voting seats on the ACRD Board.

The First Nations of Maa-nulth Treaty entered a Modern Treaty with British Columbia and Canada on April 1, 2011. This documentary chronicles the first 10 years of implementation of the Treaty from the effective date to March 31 2021. COVID-19 meant that they could not celebrate this anniversary with their culture and traditions, so instead they produced a video looking back on the 10 years and reflecting on what has changed since their implementation date.
