A Development Variance Permit issued by the Regional Board may vary the following:

• Rural Land Use By-law;
• Zoning By-law;
• Subdivision Servicing By-law;
• Building By-law regulations re trailer courts, mobile home parks and campgrounds.

The jurisdiction of the Regional District to issue development variance permits is much broader than that of the Board of Variance. The only limitation on a local government is that it cannot vary use or density of land by way of a development variance permit. Undue hardship is not a prerequisite to a development variance permit and the variance may be more than minor.
